THE FAIRGROUND: URBAN BALLET
Synopsis
The ballet Les Forains, in which street performers give a circus performance, with music composed by Henri Sauguet, propelled choreographer Roland Petit to the top in 1945. Anthony Égéa, French choreographer of the Rêvolution company, recreates this show with his own vocabulary, combining contemporary dance and hip-hop with symphonic and electro music. The performance brilliantly depicts the sad world of street comedians professing their art to an enthusiastic but stingy audience.
